CLC Welcomes New Acting Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs – Brainerd Dispatch

BRAINERD — Central Lakes College recently announced the appointment of Mark Johnson as interim vice president of academic and student affairs.
“We are delighted to welcome Mark to the CLC,” CLC President Hara Charlier said in a press release. “He brings a wealth of higher education knowledge and a genuine passion for helping students further our mission of helping students build their futures.”
Johnson is temporarily replacing Joy Bodin, who is acting president of Hennepin Technical College.
Previously, he served as academic dean at Hennepin Technical College, as well as dean of business and technology at San Jacinto College in Houston. He holds a Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul and a Master of Arts from Winona State University, where he is currently completing his doctorate in education.
“I am impressed with CIS’s caring culture and its focus on creating a campus where every student can succeed,” Johnson said in a press release. “It’s exciting to be part of a college that is so student-centred. I love that CLC offers everything a student could want: career and technical programs, transfer pathways, a vibrant fine arts community, sports, student leadership opportunities and so much more. Also, CLC has such a positive impact on the community and the economy here, and I look forward to being a part of it.
