Hardin Valley businesses enjoy teachers with a meal
KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (WATE) – Friends, food, and appreciation were served at the Hardin Valley Academy on Tuesday.
Members of the Hardin Valley Business and Community Alliance gathered to thank the teachers with a special lunch for their hard work during a difficult school year with the help of Principal Rob Speas.
âIt brings us so much joy to be able to serve them in this way, because they serve our students every day,â said Kim Frazier of the Hardin Valley Business and Community Alliance. “And that’s just a little way to say thank you for what they do every day.”
Speas said teachers are often the âunsung heroesâ even in normal years.
âWe learned very quickly that this was going to be another tough year, so the teachers have to work really hard,â he said. âWe did some things with their schedule which is a bit more of a challenge with our teachers as they adjust to these things. But they keep coming every day and doing their best for our children. “
Engineering professor and assistant basketball coach Tiffany Cantrell said the generosity did not go unnoticed.
âWe’re a tight-knit community, and I think we’re a growing community and people are taking notice,â she said. âAnd with the businesses and things setting up, and the people moving into our community, it’s important that people feel connected. And I think the teachers are feeling it.
