I teach because I have always had a passion for working with children. I wanted to make a change in our community and I knew teaching was one way to impact a lot of people.

What’s your favorite part of the school day?

My favorite part of the day is when I have time to fool around with my students. I like it when we have some free time, so that we can connect with the students outside of our regular daily schedule.

What are you working the hardest on right now?

I am currently working the hardest to try to introduce my students to the love of reading. It can be a difficult but rewarding task.

What are you most proud of as a teacher?

I take great pride in creating an environment where all students feel welcome in my room.

What makes you happiest as a teacher?

I am happiest as a teacher when students develop lifelong skills such as mindsets and positive thinking.

How do you contribute / how are you involved in our community outside of school?

I support the many local businesses that we have here. I also attend sporting events in Fort Dodge and Iowa Central.

What are your interests / hobbies outside of school?

I spend all my free time with my adorable doggie, Willow. I also watch a lot of football!

What would you like your students / families to know about you?

I would like families to know how much I care about each student as an individual. I understand college is tough and we are learning how to grow up to be the best we can be.

What does Together We Rise mean to you?

Together We Rise means we have to be a team to accomplish great things. It takes a lot of work to grow and by having a great team, we get it all done.
