Moraine Valley seeks hostels for international students
PALOS HILLS, IL – Share your culture, learn about another, and create lasting friendships by hosting an international student. Moraine Valley Community College is seeking foster homes in its district for international students who will be taking courses in the fall semester of 2021.
Being a reception center offers residents the opportunity for a cultural exchange. Hostels should be located within a 15-minute walk of the Palos Hills campus or along public transportation such as the Pace bus lines # 381, # 385, or # 379, as most international students do not do not have a car to go to school.
Residents must own their accommodation and cannot be held to a lease. Accommodation must have an on-site washer / dryer, Internet access and a private room available to the international student.
Hosts are of all ages and can be single or with family. A student will be placed in a foster home for a minimum of one semester. Those who wish to host should understand that new international students will need help and support adjusting to life in the United States. Hosts receive $ 500 (no meals) or $ 700 (with meals) to rent each month from the student.
Anyone interested in hosting an international student can email [email protected] or call 708-974-5443.
