My Hero Academia launches the boldest professional hero yet
My Hero Academia introduced the series’ boldest professional hero yet with the spin-off manga series Team-Up Missions! Kohei Horikoshi’s original manga series is currently in one of its most intense storylines yet as it prepares for its final moments, but if you’re looking for a much less intense experience, there are thankfully still ways. to get this solution. The special spin-off series, My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions, is a side series from illustrator Yoko Akiyama (who also worked as an assistant for Horikoshi himself) that introduces fun new sides to the world of heroes.
My Hero Academia: Team Missions shows all sorts of new heroic teams and mash-ups that fans can’t see in the main series, and also brings in other professional heroes that don’t fit the action mold. This is especially true with Chapter 4 of the series, as it pairs Izuku Midoriya, Fumikage Tokoyami, and Class 1-B Shihai Kuroiro with the series’ most daring professional hero to date, Odd-Eye, whose power causes those around him to leak their most embarrassing secrets.
This new team introduces fans to the “Edgelord Hero: Odd-Eye”, who theatrically speaks to all three of them while summoning them to his hideout centered around a magic circle with his sidekicks (whom he refers to as his “familiar”). His quirk is known as the Mind Reaper, an ability he describes as drawing “inner darkness” from those he touches. But that’s just one way to get them to spill their most embarrassing secrets.
It ends up working on Izuku and Shihai, but doesn’t work on Tokoyami at all. The two edgelords then try to work their powers on each other to the point where Dark Shadow quickly spirals out of control and it is revealed that Odd-Eye truly has no physical or mental abilities. That means he’s really just playing that act and trying to be the “edgelord” he claims to be.
