Nine local teachers recognized as “exceptional” by McDonald’s restaurants
WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTWO / WAWV) – Nine local teachers were announced Friday as the selected winners of the second annual “McDonald’s Outstanding Educators 2021” competition from a pool of more than 720 nominations.
The award honors teachers who “show ultimate dedication to their students and help improve education in our most difficult times.” McDonald’s owner and local operator Jami Kasprzyk said recognizing teachers for all they do for young people is a top priority for McDonald’s.
âOur local educators are the definition of persistence and loyalty. They show up and give everything day in and day out to make sure our students thrive, âKasprzyk said. âWe are delighted to recognize those who go above and beyond for our students through the Outstanding Educator Awards. “
The winners of the Outstanding Educator Award will each receive:
- $ 100 to use for their class
- Best Teacher Ever Coffee Mug
- Exceptional educator certificate
- McDonald’s coupons to “teach the future” to parents of exceptional students throughout the year
Local McDonald’s restaurants dedicated additional funds this year to reward an outstanding educator with a $ 1,000 Visa gift card. The winner of the $ 1,000 prize was Morgan Marchi, a teacher at Terre Haute South High School.

Kasprzyk and her husband and fellow owner and operator Nick Kasprzyk have teamed up with other McDonald’s operators in the Wabash Valley area including Robert Jedele, Tim Jedele and Wally Nowakowski to honor the educators.
