William Wang is having an unforgettable senior season while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and following his viola practice.

BELLEVUE, Wash. – Bellevue running back William Wang is having an unforgettable senior season.

In the first round of the state playoffs, Wang scored three touchdowns and averaged over 10 yards per carry.

“He’s disciplined, he’s tough, he’s a great teammate,” Bellevue head coach Michael Kneip said. “He’s just a selfless kid, if I could train a million William Wang I would love too, he’s one of those kids you meet and you know how special he is.”

“You just have to trust everyone around you, believe that they are going to do their job, so they can let you do your job, you just have to follow your blockers and run through the holes”, said William Wang.

William can run football, but he’s also an MVP in the class. He has a 4.0 GPA, got a 1560 on his SAT, and had a perfect score on his ACT.

“He doesn’t miss the practice to study, he stays awake and works, I remember him texting me one day at 3 in the morning, and he said, hey coach, I just finished my duty and I’m like wow, I slept, but that’s what it takes, “Kneip said.

And there is more to its story. He has been playing the viola since 5th grade.

“I like being able to make music, I really like music,” Wang said. “It’s a bit like football, you have to work with other people to do something bigger than yourself.”

Bellevue’s Beethoven-Bo-Jackson proves that balance is a good thing.

“He loves the math club, he loves his music and he loves his football and he’s able to do them all at a high level,” Kneip said.

William’s dream school is MIT, but then again, maybe he’s already at his dream school on his dream team.

“It’s like family here, we’re more than a bunch of friends, everything we’ve been through, hardships and victories,” Wang said.

William is hoping for three more wins, which in this equation would amount to a state title.
