80′ Jacks named to members of CCAA Academic Team
Eighty Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjack student-athletes have been named to the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s 2021-22 varsity team, a university press release announced. The 80 students represent more than half of the students who have participated in a CCAA sport.
A total of 935 student-athletes from the 12 CCAA institutions earned CCAA All-Academic honors in 2021-22 for posting a 3.40 or higher grade point average and earning a varsity letter in a conference-sponsored sport in the designated academic year.
The eighty Lumberjacks receiving the honor are sixth in the conference with Chico State, the most student-athletes receiving the honor at 118, followed by San Francisco State at 109 and the Cal San Marcos State at 100. Sonoma State rounds out the top six. 92, Cal Poly Pomona 90 and Cal Poly Humboldt 80.
“Our student-athletes continue to impress me with their drive, commitment and ability,” said Cal Poly Humboldt Assistant Athletic Director Amanda Nelson. “With only 75% of our student-athletes able to qualify for this award…it’s an impressive achievement.”
