ATLANTA, Ga. – Showing outstanding dedication in the classroom and on the field, Sugar Bear lucy ibeh was named to the ASUN conference academic team, as announced by the conference on Wednesday morning.

Ibeh was selected based on a combination of athletic accomplishments this season coupled with a consistent and enduring commitment to academic achievement. One of eight selected to this team, Ibeh proved to be one of the best at respecting both parts of the term “student-athlete”.

On the pitch, Ibeh has proven to be one of ASUN’s best strikers. She leads the Sugar Bears in points (12.8 ppg), rebounds (10.5 rpg) and steals (52 stl). Conference-wise, it ranks sixth in scoring, first in rebounds and second in steals. A beast on the boards, Ibeh has 60 more rebounds than anyone else in the conference, helping him lead the conference in double-doubles, recording 12 statlines over 10 points and 10 more rebounds.

Yet, Ibeh’s prowess extends beyond the pitch, as the striker has proven to excel academically. Specializing in dietetics, Ibeh has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.93 during her college career, including a 4.0 in the fall.

Ibeh and the Sugar Bears open the playoffs tonight against Jacksonville, facing the Dolphins for the second time this season.
