UO and GU sign memorandum of understanding for academic collaboration
LAHORE: Okara University (UO) and Ghazi University (GU), Dera Ghazi Khan on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding for academic collaboration in all disciplines and joint ventures in various research areas.
The pact was signed between the Vice-Chancellor of Okara University, Prof. Dr. M Wajid, and the Vice-Chancellor of Ghazi University, Prof. Dr. M Tufail, at the office of the latter. Under this agreement, the Department of Zoology of Okara University, in collaboration with its counterpart, will conduct an expedition to the fossils of the Sulaiman Range. The administration of Okara University will also establish a museum displaying the samples collected from this research.
Commenting on other key objectives of the MoU, Professor Wajid said: “The two universities will work together to promote research in key areas with the aim of achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our students will also conduct research on water reservoirs and indicator animal species in the dessert.” This is the new Vice-Chancellor’s third consecutive MoU.
Previously, Prof. Wajid had joint research and academic collaboration agreements with Khawaja Farid University of Engineering and Information Technology, Rahimyar Khan and National Skills University Islamabad.
